StockWright

StockWright puts the stocks you follow in the macOS menu bar, where checking them costs you nothing. Prices sit beside the clock — green when up, red when down — and the whole watchlist is one click away. On iPhone and iPad it is a clean list, on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, and on your wrist.

What it tracks

• Anything Yahoo Finance lists: shares, ETFs, indices such as ^GSPC, currency pairs such as EURUSD=X, and crypto such as BTC-USD.
• Listings priced in their own currency, with the right symbol in front of the number.
• Pre-market and after-hours prices beside the regular one, when there are any.

In the menu bar

Each ticker is drawn inline: symbol, price, and the movement in green or red, in monospaced figures that do not shuffle as prices tick over. Choose what each ticker shows and which ones appear in the bar at all, or put your portfolio’s move for the day at the front. Click any ticker for its own window: a chart from one day to five years, today’s and the 52-week range, your holding, its alerts, and the latest news.

Your portfolio and alerts

• Record how many shares you hold and what you paid, and StockWright keeps the sums: value, today’s gain or loss, and the total — converted to your currency.
• Be told when a stock goes above or below a price, moves a set percentage in a day, or reaches a 52-week high or low.
• Search by ticker or by company name, drag rows into your order, file them in groups, and bring a list in from a spreadsheet or take yours out as one.

Widgets and Apple Watch

Your watchlist on the Home Screen, your portfolio on its own, and a ticker or three on the Lock Screen. On Apple Watch, the same list with your portfolio and each ticker’s chart, on a watch face or in the Smart Stack. The watch fetches its own prices, so it stays current away from your phone.

On your other devices

Pair your Macs, iPhone, iPad and Android devices and they keep one watchlist — tickers, order, holdings, groups and alerts — directly over your own network. No account, and no server in between.

There is no account to make, no API key to paste, and no sign-in of any kind. Quotes come from Yahoo Finance’s public endpoints, which means the symbols you follow are the only thing that leaves your network. No analytics, no telemetry. See StockWright’s privacy policy.
